Technical terms

Age - the age of the person who something is aiming to appeal to.

A-syncrounous - sounds that do not fit with what is happening on screen.

Convention - Typical features of a genre for example a convention of a soap is continuous episodes.

Continuity - appears as if its been continuous

Diegetic - sound that is heard from things happening in the clip.

Ethnicity - the country or race that a person originates from.

Editing - Cutting, changing and perfecting something so its exactly how you want it.

Gender - masculine and feminine

Genre - The categories things are split up to due to there similarities, form, style or subject.

Mise-en-scene - The arrangements of scenery and choice of scenery to show a location or specific feature.

Non-diegetic - sound happening not in the clip e.g. background music

Narrative - A spoken or written piece telling a story or connected events.

Plot -  The main story line

Propp - the story line

Publish - 

Regional identity - Specific features suggesting a specific location, place or region e.g accents

Representation - 

Sub-genre - The further categorization of things due to their similarities, form, style or subject within a genre.

Shot type - The movement, angle or composition of a shot.

Syncrounous - Appearing as if it all flows and fits together. Sound that fits with what's happening on screen.

Stereotype - grouping of things due to certain characteristics.

Sexuality - Being categorised by gender. Sexual preference or choice.

Todorov - A theorist with the theory that there is an equilibrium, disruption to equilibrium, recognition of disruption, attempt to fix equilibrium, new equilibrium that has slightly changed.
Verisimilartude - When something is very close to appearing as if its real life. Very similar to real life.
